Welcome to the companion site for Moving Beyond the Grammatical Syllabus: Practical Strategies for Content-Based Curriculum Design, which is published in the Routledge Focus on Applied Linguistics series.
The purpose of this site is to provide additional examples of content-based curricular units, lesson plans, and assessments that follow the principles and practices outlined in the book. New artifacts will be added to the website over time, spanning languages and levels.
The site contains the complete unit example from the book titled “(Anti)racism in Quebec,” which was taught to French students at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. You can access this unit by clicking on the “French” tab above.
To be notified when new artifacts are added the site, share your name and email address using the form embedded below. If you are interested in contributing an artifact yourself, please state so on the form.
